Deacon William (Bill) Pollingue was born on January 21, 1950, the second of three children of the late Karl L. Pollingue, and the late Mary Gabriella (Billie) Logan. Raised on a farm in Port Barre, LA, he attended elementary and high school at the Academy of the Immaculate Conception in Opelousas, LA. He then attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL, receiving a BSC in Accounting and Business Administration in 1972. In 1975 he received his Law Degree from LSU in Baton Rouge.
He married Marie Charmaine Verrette in 1974 and has one child, Jennifer, and three grandchildren. He received a Masters in Theology from Our Lady Holy Cross in New Orleans in May 2012 and was ordained by Bishop Michael Jarrell to the Permanent Diaconate on August 25, 2012, being assigned to Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish.
Deacon Bill teaches CCD confirmation classes, serves as a minister at Senior Village Nursing Home, is a member of the Knights of Columbus Third Degree and is the Coordinator for Liturgical Ministries at Queen of Angels. Deacon Bill is currently employed full time as the CFO for Tony Chachere’s in Opelousas, LA.
